The “Christmas” Graphic

  • I remember being home in Pennsylvania and putting up the Christmas tree in early November. My family has one of those trees that has my brother and I’s art projects since we were 3, family and travel ornaments ALL OVER. Tradition is to hang your own ornaments. When I was asked to make a Christmas recruiting graphic, I wanted to create something that resembled a tradition because Clemson is all about traditions and for me that was hanging my own ornaments.

  • I started out with a blank canvas. I knew I wanted something cozy and warm feeling in the background. I used Mid Journey to find a fireplace setting that I loved. From there I started to layer elements such as pines, parts of a tree, etc. Then, I used an Envato element snow globe to create that ornament look. From there I began experimenting what to add inside the snow globe. I added lighting, hue, stamped unwanted words off the element, added text, blue, texture, and the lock ups. Finally, I ran the graphic with all the players needed, and sent to get checked for print.

  • My takeaways from this graphic was the simpler the better. It was clean and to the point.
